The short version

The Pharmayo release distributed through Google Play is configured for local-first use. Your health records stay in the app's database on your device. This release does not provide an account, cloud sync, cloud backup, remote AI processing, external billing, advertising, or third-party analytics. It contacts Expo Application Services for app updates, a public Pharmayo research service for PubMed metadata, Reddit's public search feeds for selected lived-experience discussions, a public Pharmayo community-discovery service for journeys without a Reddit community, and pharmayo.com for public product catalogs and delivery prices, as described below.

Information that stays on your device

Cycle, symptom, trying-to-conceive, pregnancy, baby-care, and custom records, local estimates, charts, reminders, and reports are stored locally. The app does not require or create an account in this release. Pharmayo may request notification permission for reminders you choose. Notification IDs, app-lock PINs, and raw files stay in local app or operating-system storage and are excluded from normal data export.

Photos

If you choose a bump photo, it is copied to Pharmayo’s local app storage. Bump-photo files are local-only and are not synced or exported as raw files. You can delete them in the app; a local-device wipe also attempts to remove them.

Local-first release configuration

This local-first Google Play release does not configure or offer account creation, sign-in, cloud sync, cloud backup, care-partner sharing, external billing, or remote AI processing. Pharmayo does not upload app health records, photos, reminders, reports, names, account identifiers, or raw tracking history to the public research service. The Research Library can, however, send a general research query generated on your device from your current journey or a search phrase that you type, as described below. If a future release enables another off-device service, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure before distribution.

Public research library

When you open the Research Library, Pharmayo can retrieve a shared public catalog of PubMed-indexed publication metadata. Pharmayo can also create a bounded, general research query on your device from your current journey, stage, selected interests, and recent activity state so that it can request fresh PubMed results. The app sends the resulting research query, sort choice, and page controls to Pharmayo's research service, which forwards the query to the NCBI PubMed search service. It does not attach your account token, name, profile record, raw health records, tracking entries, pregnancy or birth dates, or other underlying records used to choose the query.

If you use Search PubMed, the search words you type are sent to Pharmayo's research service and PubMed so the requested results can be returned. Search terms can themselves reveal a health interest. Pharmayo's application code does not add those terms to your remote health record or research database and does not maintain a server-side search history for this feature. The app keeps only a limited local history of PubMed identifiers shown by automatic discovery so it can reduce repetition; that history remains on your device.

For studies that have not completed Pharmayo's editorial/clinical review, the app shows source metadata such as the original title, journal, authors, date, DOI, study type, and PubMed link. It does not present an unreviewed Pharmayo-written interpretation of their findings. Standard network information required to make an HTTPS request may be processed by the hosting and network providers that deliver the research service and PubMed results.

Community experiences

Pharmayo can show public discussions from Reddit and, for journeys without a matching Reddit community, Parenting Stack Exchange. These cards are labeled as community experiences and are not medical advice or medical evidence. For Reddit posts, the app shows the post title, community name, and author name, and opens the original discussion on Reddit when you tap it.

To choose relevant discussions, Pharmayo evaluates your current care path, lifecycle stage, selected interests, recent activity, and recent coarse check-in signals such as fatigue, sleep difficulty, or nausea on your device. It turns that local context into one public community name and a short topic, for example r/BabyBumps with second trimester, or r/maleinfertility with semen analysis. Your device then requests Reddit's public search feed for that community and topic directly from Reddit, normally one successful batch per day for each journey stage. Refresh selects unseen posts from that saved batch; unsuccessful requests may be retried. As with any website request, Reddit receives your device's IP address and the app name and version together with the community and topic. Your name, profile, exact dates, symptom entries, notes, account identity, and reading history are not sent. The fetched posts are cached on your device and are not sent to Pharmayo's servers.

If you use Search real experiences, the exact words you type are sent from your device to Reddit's public search feed for the community that matches your current journey. For journeys without a Reddit community, they are sent to Pharmayo's community service, which requests matching Parenting Stack Exchange discussions without attaching profile data. Manual search does not add to or rewrite your query from your profile. Search terms can themselves reveal a health interest.

When Reddit cannot be reached, Pharmayo may instead show links that open Reddit's own search page for the same community and topic; Reddit's privacy policy applies once you open them. Pharmayo does not maintain a server-side profile or community reading/search history for this feature. A limited list of recently shown discussion IDs stays on your device to reduce repetition. If a recent local signal could indicate a situation where community anecdotes are inappropriate, Pharmayo hides the Community section rather than using a forum post as guidance.

Shops and pharmacies

Pharmayo can suggest everyday products for your current stage, for example ovulation tests or hospital-bag items, and link to pharmacies and online shops that deliver in your country. Pharmayo does not ask for location permission. You choose a country and, if you like, a city; the phone's region setting is only used to suggest a country. Your country, city and the suggestions are worked out and stored on your device only. They are not synced or sent to Pharmayo, and they are removed when you delete your data.

When you tap a shop or a map search, you leave Pharmayo. The shop or the map provider (for example Google Maps) receives that request, including the city and the type of place in a map search, and its own privacy policy applies. Pharmayo does not send your health information, stage or logs to shops or map providers, and other shops do not pay Pharmayo for these links. Shopping suggestions are not shown in the adolescent experience.

Some suggestions are Pharmayo's own products from pharmayo.com, clearly marked "Pharmayo shop". In countries Pharmayo ships to, the app downloads the same public product categories and delivery prices for your selected language and currency, usually once a day. The website also receives your IP address and may derive an approximate country from it for regional currency and delivery processing. This country lookup can be cached on the website for up to 24 hours. The IP-based country is separate from the country and city saved in the app; catalog requests do not include your stage, saved city or health records. Ordering happens on pharmayo.com under its own terms; product links carry only a marker that the visit came from the app.

App updates through Expo

Pharmayo uses Expo Application Services (EAS Update) to check for and deliver compatible app-code and asset updates. When the app checks for an update, the update client sends Expo a random identifier for that installation, along with technical update information such as the app platform, runtime version, and release channel. The identifier is not derived from your name, account, health records, advertising ID, or hardware identifiers. It is stable for that installation and changes when app data is cleared or the app is reinstalled.

Expo processes this information as Pharmayo's service provider for app-update functionality. Update requests use HTTPS. Pharmayo does not use the identifier for advertising, behavioral tracking, sale, eligibility decisions, or to build a health profile.

Health Connect (Android)

With permission, Pharmayo can read menstruation flow and sleep-session records from Health Connect. It requests read-only access and does not write to Health Connect. Basal body temperature can be logged manually in Pharmayo. Imported records retain provenance and remain in the on-device Pharmayo database. On disconnect, you may keep imported rows or delete the imported local rows, including temperature records imported by earlier versions.

How we use information

Pharmayo processes local records on your device to provide tracking, organization, on-device estimates, charts, reminders, education cards, screening check-ins, and reports. We do not use your data for ads, behavioral advertising, sale, or tracking across apps or websites.

No ads, sale, or tracking

Pharmayo does not sell personal information. This release has no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK listed in its mobile dependencies. We do not use health information for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

You can wipe local data in Pharmayo without signing in. This local-first release does not create a remote Pharmayo account and does not hold app records on a Pharmayo server. Security

Pharmayo uses device storage and SecureStore for app-lock secrets. No system is perfectly secure; protect your device, use its screen lock, and keep exported files secure.

Law-enforcement and government requests

Pharmayo app records are held on your device, not by Pharmayo, in this local-first release. Pharmayo therefore cannot retrieve or disclose records that the app never received. We review requests through a human process and disclose only information we actually hold and are legally required to disclose after validating jurisdiction and scope.

Children

Pharmayo is not directed to children under 13.

Pharmayo is not a medical device and is not contraception. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease. Predictions and educational content are for information and organization only; consult a qualified health professional for medical questions.

Pharmayo is a consumer wellness app, not a healthcare provider or health plan. We do not claim coverage under HIPAA or any equivalent healthcare-provider regulation; the protections described in this policy come from how the app is built, not from HIPAA.
